A 2006 study* by the University of Turku in Finland may indirectly reference the proverbial "seven-year itch."
Data collected from the survey showed that a woman's sexual desire decreases with the time she spends with her partner. For women who have been in the same relationship for 7 years, their sexual desire has dropped by more than half !
The study first invited 2,173 women with an average age of 25 to receive a questionnaire in 2006 to learn about their sexual desires , orgasms , sexual satisfaction and pain experiences during sexual intercourse .
Until 2013 , when the same group of women was interviewed again, 44 % Still in a relationship with the same partner ; 40.2 % have found a new partner ; 15.5% have become single .
The study also pointed out that women who had maintained a relationship with the same partner for 7 years had a significant drop in sexual desire of 53 % ; while those with a new partner only dropped by 28 % ; there was no significant change in those who were single.
